Scaling and Root Planing

Scaling and root planing, sometimes referred to as a deep cleaning, is done by cleaning between your gums and roots down to your roots. Depending upon the severity and your sensitivity, you may receive local anesthetic to numb your gums and the roots of your teeth.

Scaling and root planing is very effective is treating gum disease and stopping the progression towards Gingivitis.

We recommend brushing and flossing regularly afterward to diminish the chance of your gum disease continuing to progress.
